Wool coats should be a staple in your winter wardrobe. Proper care for wool coats is essential and is quite easy.
STORING YOUR WOOL COATS
Wool coats should be hung on a well shaped hanger, sturdy and broad, so the weight of the coat does not stretch the shoulder areas out of shape. The hanging space should be away from direct sunlight and in a dry wardrobe.
Make sure the coats are not too packed tightly against other items, as it may crumble the coat and sometimes can absorb dirt or odour from neighbouring pieces.
WASHING YOUR WOOL COATS
Q: CAN I MACHINE WASH MY WOOL COAT?
A: No, machine washing is not recommended. You should only need to get your wool coats dry cleaned once or twice in the season, preferably before you put it away at the end of the season.
To keep your wool coats clean throughout the season, we recommend airing your coats after every wear.
We understand that when you’re running in-between meetings or going from the office to a restaurant, or simply home; the weather may not be on your side.
Should you get caught in the rain dashing from one place to another, we recommend that you hang up your coat in a well-ventilated area to air dry before placing it into your wardrobe. Avoid hanging it close to a heat source while damp as this can potentially damage the wool fibres.
Allowing the wool to fully dry before storing avoids potential mould damage to your coat and any other pieces in your wardrobe it may come into contact with.
